HP partners with World Wildlife Fund
HP has announced a new partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) that supports its efforts to create a forest positive future for printing. Through this five-year, $11 million initiative, HP and WWF will help protect a combined area of 200,000 acres by restoring part of Brazil’s threatened Atlantic Forest and increasing sustainable management of state-owned farms and forest plantations in China.
These two major projects mark the first within HP’s Sustainable Forests Cooperative, which is designed to drive action and inspire others to preserve and improve forest ecosystems for future generations.
HP will also support WWF’s development of science-based targets that will provide guidance on the quantity and quality of forests needed to restore and protect forest ecosystems and benefit people, plants, and animals. This partnership complements HP’s efforts to responsibly source fibers and meet a goal to achieve zero deforestation associated with HP brand paper and paper-based product packaging by 2020.
HP has already achieved its brand paper goal and is on track to reach its packaging goal.
